Subjunctive Mood

“Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive add or reflect a biased attitude in the direction of the situation, circumstance or action that is described by the verb in a sentence. “Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive is used to describe an uncertain event or situation or an opinion.

“Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive, more often than not, is not at all used in the English language, as compared to Italian where “Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive is used more often.

The formation of present tense based “Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive is not difficult as some forms of commands are “Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive.

“Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive

Examples of uncertain opinions or suggestions would be

“Penso che dorma” meaning I think he's sleeping.

“Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive is also used, where verbs describing emotions are used or even when actions or verbs reflecting willingness or unwillingness of events.

“Congiuntivo” or Subjunctive has four tenses, present, perfect, imperfect and pluperfect, as its scope.
